The task of patient representatives is to promote and implement patients’ rights by giving them guidance and advice on matters related to the laboratory services and treatment.
Each public and private health care unit has a designated patient representative whose statutory task is to advise and provide information on the status and rights of patients (785/1992 Act on the Status and Rights of Patients). The task of patient representatives is to promote and implement patients’ rights. When dissatisfied with the services or treatment provided by a laboratory, a patient can contact the patient representative who will give them advice on how to resolve the matter. Patient representatives act impartially when providing advice.
